Miguna Miguna is a stratum quality that can sign in as best Nairobi Governor as well.

Nairobi does not require to elect leaders based on their ability to coerce youths and the poor  with handouts or through ethnic lenses . There should be no riding on blind ethnic, party or any sort of euphoria when looking for the Governor for a County like Nairobi . Kenya's largest city deserves the best .......

Miguna Miguna is one of the best candidates and must be given attentive ears . He outlines some best governance attributes when he says he  is fully committed to transforming governance in Nairobi City County.  Intend to eliminate corruption, land-grabbing, tribalism, nepotism and cronyism. Under his leadership, qualifications, demonstrated competence/ability, creativity, resourcefulness and industry will be the determining factors on who is employed and in what capacity. Ultimately, merit – not personal or political connections – will count. This is simply super .

Here is quite an impressive Bio of the Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate .

“ I was a student leader at the University of Nairobi from 1986 to 1987. In November 1987, I was arrested and detained in-communicado before being released and expelled from the University together with some of my colleagues for championing multi-party democracy.

I fled to Tanzania, then Swaziland before being granted political asylum in Canada in June 1988. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Toronto in June 1990; a Juris Doctor (JD) from The Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in June 1993; and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree, with distinction, from The Osgoode Hall Law School in June 2001. I was admitted to the Ontario Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in February 1995 and as an Advocate in Kenya in 2008.

Between 1989-1994, I was the Coordinator of the Committee for Democracy in Kenya (CDK), an exile-based pro-democracy lobby group that successfully campaigned for the repeal of section 2A of the old Constitution that had made Kenya a de jure one party state.

Between 2006 and 2009, I served as a senior adviser and chief strategist for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and its party leader, Raila Odinga.

From 2009 to 2011, I was the senior adviser on coalition, constitutional and legal affairs to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya. I also served as the Joint Secretary to the Permanent Committee on the Management of Grand Coalition Affairs. I represented the ODM and Mr. Odinga during the constitutional review process in addition to participating in other important functions of state and government.

I have been a commentator on cultural and socio-political affairs. I have published six books and thousands of articles in journals and newspapers both in Kenya and abroad. My latest books are Peeling Back The Mask: A Quest for Justice in Kenya (2012) and Kidneys for The King: deForming the Status Quo in Kenya (2013).

I will be releasing two new books before the 2017 elections.

I am a visionary and committed revolutionary Pan-Africanist who believes in and is committed to a more equal, accountable and transparent governance. I’ve a history of incorruptibility and will instill ethics, honesty, efficiency and order in the delivery of services for the people.

I’m fully committed to our program of job creation; the bridging of the widening gap between the rich and the poor; the construction of decent affordable housing for the homeless and slum dwellers; and the building of wider and adequate roads controlled by functioning traffic lights.

The transformation team and I will unveil an infrastructural development of light rapid rail system; a subway system; a sewer and storm drainage system; a solid waste management system; the provision of clean piped water for everyone; adequate bicycle and pedestrian lanes; and a clean environment with gardens, parks and recreational facilities in all estates, especially in low income areas such as the Eastlands.

Make no mistake about it: I intend to eliminate corruption, land-grabbing, tribalism, nepotism and cronyism. Under my leadership, qualifications, creativity, resourcefulness, industry and ability will be the determining factors on who is employed and in what capacity. Ultimately, merit – not political or personal connections – will count.

The cartels will be identified, eliminated and banished from the corridors of City Hall for good.

These are my commitments to you, fellow Nairobians. They are not mere promises! “
